This project mainly focuses on the concept of "Circular Economy", organizing and participating in international conferences on circular economy and collecting related information to deepen the issues and strengthen international exchanges.
The project organizes the 2021 "3rd Taiwan Eco-Economic Week", including " Taiwan Eco-Economic Innovation Conference", " Taiwan Recycling Economy Excellent Enterprise Award and Industry Dialogue Summit ", "Visiting, Display and Forum of Resource Circulation and Plastic Free Island in Penghu", as well as "Visitings of Taiwan Circular Economy Facilities". In each of these events, domestic and foreign recycling companies and ambassadors from various countries in Taiwan were invited to participate in the visits to recycling facilities. The media meetings and business summits successfully created opportunities for cooperation between participating companies and promoted exchanges between upstream and downstream companies in the recycling agriculture, recycling construction, and recycling plastic industries. The visits to the circular economy facilities not only showcased the achievements of Taiwan's circular economy to the ambassadors, but also allowed some companies to find matchmaking opportunities. The ambassadors also wrote letters of appreciation for the activities held under the program and invited them to jointly organize the "Salute to the Ocean, Healthy Ocean without Borders" beach clean-up event. The program has successfully achieved the objectives of showcasing the achievements of circular economy, exchanging international circular economy, and promoting the matching of circular economy industries.
In addition to organizing various activities, the project also assists EPA in collecting information on international conferences, including the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Summit, the 5th World Circular Economy Forum 2021, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Online Conference, and compiles and analyzes information to make recommendations for Taiwan's reference.
In addition to the experience and results of the implementation of this project and the results of international information collection, the project also proposes suggestions and plans for the future focus of the circular economy, providing the EPA with some practical reference directions in the planning and adjustment of future projects, and continuing to promote the development of the circular economy in the hope of achieving the desired goals one day.
