The project had been executed from 29th September to the end of 2021. In oil sampling, 3 different kinds of ships (container ship, harbor working ship and fishing boat) were selected, and the results were in accordance with regulations.
In Kaohsiung Harbor Air Quality Monitoring data analysis (2016~2021), indicating that PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NO2 decreased in 15.8%, 15.3%, 45.6% and 14.6%. On 15th October, holding Kaohsiung Harbor Alternate Maritime Power (AMP) meeting with EPA and TIPC.
In VOCs and PM2.5 sampling (2nd~5th October;29th November~2nd December), the first period of VOCs, totally 25 VOCs were detected, including 9 harmful air pollutants (UAT) and 16 photochemical assessment monitoring system (PAMs). And in second period there were 18 VOCs detected, including 8 UAT and 10 PAMs. The three main pollutants were Toluene, C2-VOC and Acetone. The analysis results of PM2.5 ion components showed that SO42-, NO3- and NH4+ were main ions. In the metal elements, Ca, Al, Mg, K and Fe were mostly existed and related with the actions of fugitive dust or sea salt.
In conclusion, the works of auditing ships fuels documents and investigate possible sources of PM2.5 and VOCs, in order to remain better air quality in harbor and provide information for future controlling, to comprehensively reduce air pollutants emission in the harbor and maintain air quality for the citizens.
