In order to continue to create a better quality of low-carbon sustainable living in Yilan County and to strengthen the benefits of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau submitted an application to the Environmental Protection Administration for a competitive low-carbon sustainable home certification program to carry out low-carbon energy-saving renovation work on the museums within its jurisdiction.
For the Yilan Carbon Museum Project, the project has completed one consultation session to formulate a low-carbon renovation demonstration plan for the Carbon Museum. In addition, a presentation and workshop were held to explain the renovation plan, renovation projects, and invite lecturers to share the renovation methods and practical experience in multiple directions, etc. An exhibition of the project results and a press conference were held at the Lanyang Museum Visitor Hall. The exhibition was themed as "Carbon Audit Book", and the interactive exhibition allowed visitors to learn the truth about greenhouse gas emissions and various types of carbon reduction renovation actions, and to discover the results of carbon reduction promotion in the participating museums this year.
The carbon testing Yilan Museum, this project has assisted 12 departments to assist in energy saving and carbon reduction diagnostic services according to the characteristics of each building, providing energy saving improvement counseling reports and counseling to carry out energy saving and carbon reduction diagnosis and renovation work, including traditional lighting fixtures, old air conditioning and old refrigerator replacement, building wall insulation and regular management of drinking fountains. In addition, through the production of information on the effectiveness of carbon reduction in each building, the installation of displays and the creation of an event website, we are able to demonstrate the overall effectiveness of carbon reduction and implement low-carbon sustainability education.
