The earliest overall environmental water quality monitoring in Taiwan could be dated back to 1976. Since 2001, the Department of Environmental Monitoring and Information Management of the EPA took over the monitoring of all of the surface water and groundwater around Taiwan, and started to establish the preliminary water quality database and online management system. To meet the needs of users, the water quality database and the frontend of the public website have been revised since 2019 to improve operational efficiency, strengthen data quality assurance and user-friendly interface. In addition, in response to the popularization of handheld device systems, a software hasbeen developed to help with on-site sampling to digitize sampling data.
In this project, the system added the total number of exclusions. Adjusted the statistic chart presentation,water quality map and 14 knowledge about water information at frontend of the public website. At the backend system for the water quality database, collecting water quality monitoring data from other department. Interface rainfall and river flow data include development query interface function. Development annual report function. Adjustment CDX upload process. At handheld devices, software has been developed to help with onsite sampling and third-party quality assurance inspectors.
During the execution of the plan, Implement information security protection and the guarantee of system functions to maintenance system functions. Make sure the accurate and complete of water quality monitoring data, to protect the national environmental water quality.
