回收寶特瓶rPET開發高值化結構防火發泡芯材技術研發

中文摘要 臺灣每年使用約10萬噸以上PET寶特瓶,回收PET寶特瓶(rPET)再製環保紗享譽全球,然rPET再製產品於市場應用的廣度並不如回收PP、PE產品的滲透度,基於PET材質屬於剛硬強靭的工程塑膠,非常適合做高單價三明治結構硬質發泡芯材,然rPET分子量低、分子結構中末端官能基-COOH及-OH濃度高,物性差不利於再次發泡成型加工;因此,本計畫擬以分子設計概念,透過合適的線性擴鏈阻燃及側鏈分支阻燃結構改質,重新賦予低分子量rPET線性結構具備防火發泡級長鏈分支結構特性,調適結構防火發泡材料的功能需求,製備高值化rPET綠色防火發泡芯材,應用於綠色節能隔熱建材、航太、風能、軌道車、輕量化新能源車等相關高附加價值市場,另闢高值化rPET回收體系第二軌道循環經濟。本計畫為延續型三年期計畫的第二年,目標在架構回收寶特瓶rPET再製高值化三明治結構發泡複合板產品的量產平台,第一年已建立回收rPET綠色發泡芯材核心技術能力,透過線性擴鏈及側鏈分支結構改質技術,將rPET材料提升到發泡級rPET材料:具備1.8倍模口膨脹比、比重0.1~0.2的rPET押出發泡成型;本年度開發防火級rPET綠色發泡芯材;明年在架構以rPET為基材之綠色三明治結構發泡複合板產品。 本計畫透過擴鏈劑複配與阻燃劑搭配改質技術完成三項產品:防火發泡級rPET材料、5cmx0.3cm之rPET防火發泡薄板及三明治結構複材(rPET發泡/rPET發泡/rPET發泡、PET織物/rPET發泡/PET織物、鋁/rPET發泡/鋁、碳纖維/rPET發泡/碳纖維),添加0.6%CE擴鏈劑與3%阻燃劑的防火發泡級rPET材料配方,可製備比重0.3~0.45、厚度3.3~4.8mm、LOI>24的防火發泡rPET薄板,可通過車輛內裝材料水平燃燒速率耐燃性的要求;PET織物/rPET發泡/PET織物三明治結構是全回收rPET環保產品。

Development of sandwich-structured composite using rPET based fire retardant foam cores via reactive extrusion foaming process

英文摘要 There are around 100,000 tons of PET bottles consumed every year in Taiwan. Green shirt made of recycled PET in Taiwan is a world-renowned products. However, the other green product made of recycled PET (rPET) is not so popular in the market as compared with recycled PP or PE product. Due to PET's rigid and tough engineering plastic property, PET is very suitable for high-valued sandwich-structured rigid foam core material. The rPET is not easy to manufacture high-valued foam core materials, because of low molecular weight of rPET, the high concentration of terminal functional groups -COOH and -OH in the molecular structure, and the poor physical properties of rPET are not easy to produce high-priced foam core materials. This project would develop extrusion foaming grade rPET formula with long-chain branch structure to meet the functional requirements of the extrusion foaming process through the combination of linear chain extension and chain branching reaction based on the molecular design concept. The rPET green foam core material could be applied to various areas of application: green high-energy-saving building, aerospace, wind energy turbines, lightweight new energy vehicles and other related high value-added markets. This project would build a mass production platform for rPET high-valued sandwich-structure foam composite in three years. In the first year, we will establish the core research and development capability of rPET green foam core material, and develop the flame retardant grade rPET green foam core material in the second year. In the third year, we will develop the high-valued sandwich-structure composite with the rPET green foam core material. This project intends to use various compounds containing P and N to synthesize copolyester, which has high compatibility with PET. This flame-retardant foaming grade PET, which char-forming effect is fast, that can effectively improve the flame retardant properties of the rPET; on the other hand, this new type of synthetic high phosphorus-containing polyester has a network structure, which can form a network branch with rPET, that can increase the melt strength of flame-retardant PET, and enhance the foamability of rPET. This project uses combination of chain extenders and flame retardant modification technology to prepare three products: flame-retardant foaming grade rPET, 5cmx0.3cm flame retardant rPET foam sheet and sandwich-structure composite with the rPET green foam core material (rPET foam/rPET foam/rPET foam, PET fabric/rPET foam/PET fabric, aluminum/rPET foam/aluminum, carbon fiber/rPET foam/carbon fiber). We have developed flame-retardant foaming grade rPET formulation, rPET with 0.6% CE chain extender and 3% flame retardant, and 5cmx0.3cm flame retardant rPET foam sheet with specific gravity of 0.3~0.45, thickness of 3.3~4.8mm, and LOI>24, which can meet the requirements of the horizontal burning rate and flame resistance of the vehicle interior materials. Also PET fabric/rPET foam/PET fabric sandwich-structure composite material is a fully recycled rPET environmentally friendly product.
