Through the Enforcement Effect of Air Quality Control & Public Opinion Survey this time, the task force began to master the general public's satisfaction and issues of concern for the enforcement effect of air quality control in Taiwan. Among a total of 1,369 questionnaires collected in return (from 175 face-to-face interviews and 1,194 online surveys), some of the most important feedback includes the general public's satisfied/disappointed policies and measures, satisfaction with the handling of individual petitions, application of air quality network, etc. According to the results of the questionnaire survey this time, despite the improved air quality in various counties and cities over the years, most people still have insufficient understanding and sensitivity to the reduction of air pollutants and the benefits of air quality improvement. Apparently, there is still room for improvement to bridge the gap between the improved air quality and the general public's perception.
In view of this, an "Air Quality Prevention & Control Policy Communication Seminar" will be convened to engage both central competent authorities and local environmental protection agencies. Aside from sharing the feedback to the questionnaire survey this time, the seminar also provides lectures on "increasing the general public's satisfaction (through new media and popular science)" and "causes of air pollution (based on atmospheric visibility and derivative pollutants)" to enhance effective policy communication with the persons engaging in the air quality maintenance industries, help central competent authority and local environmental protection agencies reach a consensus on the works related to air pollution prevention and control, thereby creating a promising future for air quality improvement in Taiwan.
