With the improvement of human standards of living, people awareness of environmental issues and the request for living quality more and more. In order to comprehensively promote high-quality public toilets and improve environmental quality, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed the “Promotion Plan for High-quality Public Toilets and Beautiful Environments” and investigated the “Promotion Plan for Public Toilet Improvement and High-quality Public Toilet Enhancement” manual, which provides local governments to apply for the subsidy and improve public toilets. This promotion plan, whose period is from 2019 to 2024, can comprehensively improve the environmental quality of public toilets and facilitate tourism benefits.
The Environmental Protection Agency through subsidizing local government promotes the construction of high-quality public toilets. There were subsidized a total of 19 countries and cities to repair and build 597 public toilets in this year. In terms of promotion and implementation, we handled 1 briefing sessions and 1 review meeting to strengthen the concept of design, management, and implementation promotion of subsidized units; executing the subsidized unit’s project control and management supervision through 70 inspections and guidance was to assist local governments to strengthen the improvement of the quality of public toilets and the progress of implementation. In addition, we have analysed the reasonableness of each item and unit price based on the data of past subsidies under the Quality Public Toilets and Quality Environment Promotion Project, so as to provide reference and refinement for the subsequent renovation or construction of quality public toilets. It is hoped that through the joint efforts of the central and local authorities, we can create quality and friendly public toilets and provide a more comfortable and quality environment for the public to go to the toilet.
