There are 4 main tasks of this project certification and authorization of emissions and noises compliance verification for imported vehicle; certification and authorization of emissions and noises compliance verification for domestic made vehicle; project related new vehicle pollution emission verification system maintenance and operations, and coordinating with competent authorities for the related policy implementations.
In 2022, there are 239,777 imported vehicles reviewed by 26,824 applications. The vehicle numbers are composed of 160,023 gasoline engine vehicles, 54,282 hybrids included, 19,547 diesel engine vehicles, 2,541 hybrids included, 42,978 motorcycles/scooters, 17,225 pure electric cars, 2 electric motorcycles/scooters, and 2 electric trucks.
As to domestic made vehicles, the total 921,988 composed of 213,521 gasoline engine vehicles, 25,242 hybrids included, 21,483 diesel engine vehicles, 46 hybrids included, 597,368 motorcycles/scooters, 87 electric cars/vans, 488 electric buses/trucks, and 89,041 electric motorcycles/scooters.
All the measures we take are about to ensure every vehicle would comply with EPA’s emissions and noise standards and fulfill the completeness of EPA’s emission control requirements. The project continuously works on functional upgrade, data update and system maintain of the online application systems: “EPA Vehicle verification system for Imported Vehicles”,” EPA Vehicle verification system for Domestic Vehicles”, and integrated the data to “New Vehicle Certifications and Verifications Database of pollution emissions”. In addition, we edit and update the guidelines for application processes and system operation manual periodically, which can help applicants and competent authorities a quick understand to recent update of regulations and differences in application process.
The project also coopreate with Customs Administration on their new platform, synchronize our data to this platform to help applicant know all the the applicant and all public can check their application status of all the competent authorities on this single platform. Throught the continuous improvement and optimization of the online application system and relevant functions, the goal of application process simplification and the administrative efficiency improvement could be achieved.
