The “New Southbound Policy” is an important policy declaration and overall foreign economic and trade strategy of our government at present, seeking new directions and new momentum for the economic development of this new stage. This project aims to establish a platform for national partnerships with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), handle ASEAN exchange affairs, promote the exchange of international soil and groundwater environmental protection between our country and ASEAN countries, and promote the highlights of the Environmental Protection Agency’s important policies. It also assists ASEAN students in enhancing their understanding of environmental protection concepts, strengthening our country’s contribution to international protection, cultivating talent in ASEAN countries, and deepening Taiwan’s cooperation with the ASEAN region in environmental partnerships. This project has completed two “ASEAN International Exchange Strategies for Soil and Groundwater Conference”, two “ASEAN Soil and Groundwater Cooperation Exchange Roundtable Meetings”, two “ASEAN Student Soil and Groundwater Exchange Conferences”, two “ASEAN Student Soil and Groundwater Field Visits”, one “Sustainable Innovation Soil and Groundwater Remediation Research Competition”, and one “ASEAN Soil and Groundwater Sustainable Forum”. The results of the conferences were further collated, and relevant suggestions were made for the reference of the competent authorities to promote soil and groundwater-related businesses more smoothly. The focus of the project is on cultivating talent in ASEAN countries, continuing to deepen the environmental partnership between ASEAN countries, and achieving the goal of jointly cultivating talent in soil and water for our country and ASEAN countries.
