The earliest overall environmental water quality monitoring in Taiwan could be dated back to 1976. Since 2001, the Department of Environmental Monitoring and Information Management of the MOENV took over the monitoring of all of the surface water and groundwater around Taiwan, and started to establish the preliminary water quality database and online management system. To meet the needs of users, the water quality database and the frontend of the public website have been revised since 2019 to improve operational efficiency, strengthen data quality assurance and user-friendly interface. In addition, in response to the popularization of handheld device systems, a software hasbeen developed to help with on-site sampling to digitize sampling data.
This phase of the project mainly adds optimization system-related functions. This includes the addition of fine-tuning capabilities for front-end map station locations and adjustments to homepage display content. Additionally, six new water quality encyclopedia cards are introduced. On the backend, we continue to collect water quality monitoring data from external sources, expand annual report generation capabilities, visualize changes in River Pollution Index (RPI) through graphics, and introduce new functions for river station flow analysis. Handheld mobile system improvements involve the addition of auxiliary tools to the sampling survey system and the establishment of a third-party quality assurance audit mobile survey system capable of automatically compiling audit deficiencies and generating summary forms.
During the execution of the plan, Implement information security protection and the guarantee of system functions to maintenance system functions. Make sure the accurate and complete of water quality monitoring data, to protect the national environmental water quality.
