The monitoring vehicle covers a total of 100 monitoring items, including 87 VOCS (appropriated by NIEA A715.15B), 7 air quality pollutants (sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen monoxide, carbon monoxide, ozone and particle matter), 2 odor pollutants (ammonia and total reduced sulfur), and 4 weather data (wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and humidity).
During the project period, we maintain the normal operation of all instruments and equipment, conduct quality assurance and quality control operations and data reasonableness checks, and ensure that the results of quality assurance and quality control are in accordance with the relevant norms and standards. We also ensure the quality and reliability of the data.
The monitoring period is from March 8th to December 31st, 2022, with the main monitoring locations at the Yunlin Offshore Industrial Park (Nanmen Haifeng Dormitory and the 4th Coastal Patrol 42nd Squadron) and monitoring at the public petition position (Dounan Stadium, Yunlin County) in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Bureau, Yunlin County.
1.Yunlin Offshore Industrial Park:
The major pollutants include sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, PM10, propane, isopentane, acetone, pentane, benzene, methanol, hexane, etc. The emission situation is affected by seasonal changes due to monsoon transition, with several events of high concentrations during the monitoring period, such as propane on February 7th and 1,2-dichloroethane from August 12th to August 20th. Possible reasons identified through data analysis and tracking of factory operations include factory annual maintenance, tank cleaning, and flaring emissions.
2.Xiaodong Community in Dounan:
Total reduced sulfur and ammonia were detected with higher concentration, indicating relatively higher odor pollutants concentrations in Xiaodong Community compared to other regions.
