Taitung County has faced severe challenges in terms of garbage disposal in recent years. The 16 township and city government landfills in the county are gradually saturated. If other county and city incineration plants are used to help with processing, it completely depends on the decisions of other counties. At this stage, The Taitung incinerator is already in the trial operation stage and will be sent for incineration in the future. Therefore, how to decontaminate waste and implement source reduction are the top priorities of the county's environmental protection work. In order to implement the Environmental Protection Agency's policy of waste reduction and zero waste, the Taitung County Environmental Protection Bureau has implemented the "2011 Taitung County Subsidy Program for Promoting Waste Reduction and Recycling" to strengthen waste reduction work in various towns and cities in the county.
