Net Zero Green Life" is a lifestyle, aiming to root down and extend upward through education. This project focuses on using picture books for preschool and elementary school children. For preschoolers, whose lives revolve around their homes, including daily activities such as eating, dressing, and living spaces, the themes are centered around the aspects of Net Zero Green Life, namely, food, clothing, and housing. Three picture books have been created in four languages: Mandarin, English, Hakka, and Minnan. Additionally, three lesson plans have been developed, and five seminars have been conducted to explain the use of the lesson plans and picture books. Trial lessons have also been organized to evaluate the outcomes of the planned lessons.
Addressing elementary school children in lower grades, considering their living circle expanded, having experiences related to movement, travel, and shopping, three picture books were created focusing on aspects of transportation entertainment and shopping. Emphasizing the importance of cultivating daily behaviors and establishing a pattern of Net Zero Green Life from an early age. The materials include three picture books in four languages, three lesson plans (including teaching materials), and three sets of learning sheets. Similar to the preschool phase, five seminars were conducted to explain the use of lesson plans and picture books, with trial lessons involving school teachers.
For upper-grade elementary and middle school students who are accustomed to reading and viewing multimedia content, cultivating their critical thinking skills and understanding the significance of Net Zero Green Life and its potential for achieving zero emissions is crucial. Podcasts comprising 25 episodes were produced, accompanied by three lesson plans (including teaching materials) and three sets of learning sheets. Similar to the previous stages, five seminars were organized to explain the use of lesson plans and materials, with trial lessons involving school teachers.
Facing college and above students preparing to integrate into society, a video competition was organized to encourage their engagement in public affairs. Utilizing the video format familiar to Generation Z, students recorded the images of their campus and community while expressing their views on Net Zero Green Life by the videos. A total of 44 works was collected, and an online voting campaign was conducted to select 10 finalists, 5 popularity prizes, and 100 attendance green point prizes.
To promote the project, various materials such as texts, graphics, and video publications were created. Six groups of graphics and six seminar videos were produced. Additionally, an analysis of the outcomes of picture books, materials, study sheets, podcasts, trial teaching, and video competition works was conducted. The analysis covered understanding Net Zero Green Life across different age groups and achievements in gender equality, consumer protection, children's protection, and human rights.
