As of November 30th, 2023, 160 livestock farms in Kaohsiung City have obtained approval for the use of biogas slurry and biogas residue, of which 152 are swine farms and 8 are cattle farms. The total irrigation area is 181.81 hectares, with an annual irrigation volume of 242,259.5 metric tons. Fruit trees (banana, guava, and mango) are the main types of irrigation crops, followed by rice, vegetables, grains and other crops.
A total of 68 livestock farms in the Erren River Basin have obtained approval for the use of biogas slurry and biogas residue agricultural land. 60 livestock farms in the Agongdian River Basin have obtained the biogas slurry and biogas residue agricultural land fertilizer. A total of 128 livestock farms in the two watersheds have obtained approval for the use of biogas slurry and biogas residue, accounting for 80% of the total approved number.
