This project was implemented from July 11 to December 31, 2023. The scope of this project encompassed the execution of administrative support tasks related to the Environmental Protection Charitable Trusts, assistance in facilitating the National Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Environmental Conference for Communication with Environmental Groups, and the organization of 2023 Professional Medal for Environmental Protection selection and award ceremony. An overview of the implementation status is provided below:
1. Implement Administrative Support for Environmental Protection Charitable Trusts:
The primary focus of this project’s administrative support is to assist the Ministry of Environment (MOENV) in counseling, reviewing, and supervising cases related to the Environmental Protection Charitable Trusts (the Trusts). As of November 30, 2023, two assistance reviews were completed. This project also contributed to enhancing the MOENV’s operations by conducting three promotional seminars for the Trusts in the northern, central, and southern regions. These seminars aimed to strengthen the guidance for applicants.
In terms of counseling and consultation, this project provided a dedicated hotline to address public concerns related to the Trusts. Throughout the project execution period, a total of 10 consultations were conducted, offering supplementary guidance for application cases and providing information in response to seminar-related inquiries. Utilizing channels such as telephone counseling, trust case reviews, and seminars, common issues surrounding the Trusts were consolidated. Additionally, this project analyzed current challenges in our promotion efforts and gathered domestic and international cases related to environmental protection public trusts. Recommendations were made based on lessons learned, serving as valuable insights for future policy planning in Taiwan.
2. Assist the MOENV in Facilitating the Environmental Conference of Taiwan NGOs:
Regarding the NGOs conferences, this project assisted in convening the 2023 Environmental Conference of Taiwan NGOs: Environmental Group Representatives 1st Communication Meeting on November 6, 2023. In addition to providing support for the conference, this project conducted an analysis of the execution status of advisory topics over the five-year period from 2019 to 2023. Furthermore, this project collected and analyzed prevalent environmental concerns from domestic and international environmental groups. It meticulously compiled and examined customer service issues arising from the operation of the Environmental Group Advisory System across various ministries and agencies. Simultaneously, feedback and suggestions from system users spanning different ministries were gathered to pinpoint areas for improvement in the maintenance and enhancement of system functionality.
3. Implement 2023 Professional Medal for Environmental Protection Selection and Award Ceremony:
The primary focus of this section is to provide support for the selection process, organization of the award ceremony, and presentation of results for the 2023 Professional Medal for Environmental Protection. The execution of the project for the award ceremony is presented in two key aspects: the operational process and the outcomes.
Throughout the project execution period, a total of five customer service consultations were conducted. Feedback from various ministries on system functionality was collected and compiled to serve as a reference for future enhancements. This project maintained the Professional Medal for Environmental Protection Platform to ensure smooth operation during the project execution. Assistance was provided in coordinating the Professional Medal for Environmental Protection secondary selection, final selection committee, and the award ceremony, which took place on August 16th for the 2023 Professional Medal for Environmental Protection Award Ceremony.
