In this project, we support the Environmental Maintenance and Inspection Division of the Taoyuan City Government in implementing the 2023 General Recycling Program for Taoyuan City and other related tasks. The work has been conducted until December 15, 2023, and the results are as follows: In the implementation of the Environmental Protection Administration's initiatives to strengthen the performance assessment of the agencies responsible for implementing waste source reduction and resource recycling, the general waste recycling rate is 60.8%. Additionally, one inter-departmental meeting was conducted. In the performance assessment and rating plan for various district teams, assistance was provided to the agency in carrying out a comprehensive overhaul and implementing tracking of the assessment results for various district teams. Resource recycling performance rating plan briefings and training sessions were also conducted, with quarterly data audits. In assisting the agency with the implementation of promotion plans, three progress review meetings have been held, and continuous assistance has been provided in implementing promotion plans and consolidating relevant results. In the on-site inspections conducted in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Administration, preliminary visits and planning guidance work have been completed. In the effort to strengthen resource recycling in Fuxing District, assistance was provided to Kuihui Village in adding one exchange location, and the recycling exchange activities for this year have begun, with six exchange events completed. In promoting resource recycling stations in local fishing ports, 40 events for Yong-an Fishing Harbor and Zhuwei Fishing Harbor were completed, with a total of 2,949 participants. In enhancing the city's recycle-for-rewards and resource recycling promotion activities, a total of 19 recycling promotion events were completed in collaboration with government departments, universities, and large-scale events, with results reports submitted. Collaborative activities with stores such as Metroasis, RT-Mart, and A.Mart were conducted, including four value-added promotions for high-pressure container recycling events. According to the agency's needs, two posters of traditional lighting sources (light bulbs and tubes) recycling and glass container and hazardous material recycling day were designed and submitted. In the highlights and innovations parts, assistance was provided to the agency in planning the trial of "Tuesday Glass Container Day and Friday Hazardous Material Day." In the collection of outstanding practices from counties and cities, 73 cases were collected from this city, and 162 cases were collected from other cities.
In other collaborative matters, assistance was provided to the agency in completing the 2022 review meeting. A new resource recycling station was established in Changxing Village, Fuxing District and recycling exchange activities began in October. In the part related to organizing a competition for the collection of waste dry batteries and electronic items from campuses, a total of 96 junior high and elementary schools participated, collecting a total of 5,909.98 kilograms of waste dry batteries, 117 portable computers, 321 tablets, and 1,320 keyboards. In collaboration with NOVA, an activity for collecting waste electronics items was conducted, with additional rewards provided for exchanging the key items. As of November 30, a total of 361 laptops, 1,001 mobile phones and tablets, and 58 kilograms of dry batteries have been collected. Despite limited manpower and budget, this project has made full use of various human resources in coordination with overall team operations and has successfully achieved the goals for this year.
