The project implementation period is from March 24, 2023 to December 15, 2023. The main objectives include: collecting information on international single-use product source reduction management measures, establishing baseline data for single-use plastic products in Taiwan, assisting in planning and promoting source reduction measures for single-use products such as beverage cups and hotel amenities, and promoting the concept of general waste source reduction. The main results include: (1) Collecting and analyzing international targets, policies, regulations and measures for single-use product reduction, restrictions on plastics, and biodegradable plastics, establishing domestic baseline data for single-use products, and proposing recommendations for improving domestic regulatory provisions and recommended target values for single-use products. (2) Assisting in promoting the reduction of single-use products such as bare fruit and vegetable sales, beverage cups, outlying islands, takeout meals, and eco-friendly deliveries, and promoting the amendment, enactment and supporting measures for self-service utensils and hotel amenity regulations. (3) Continuously tracking and counseling announced general waste source reduction measures. (4) Holding conferences, promotions, press conferences related to single-use product reduction.
