The Environmental Protection Department of the Executive Yuan determined to educate people through children’s theater. The new environmental children’s play for 2023 is named “The Magical Reborn of Food”. The play is adapted from four children’s storybooks, “If you could see me crying”, “A far far away food journey”, “The Reincarnation Magic Shop”, and “The almighty Xiu”. The main themes of the play include learning to cherish food, green dinning, recycling, and circular economy.
After the first performance at Taipei Children’s Amusement Park on July 9th, 2023, the show toured around in Taiwan in different cities, including Miaoli County, Pingtung County, Hualien County, Hsinchu City, Tainan City, Taichung City, Nantou County, Taoyuan City, and Kaohsiung City. The total number of audiences reached 5,012 people. During the performance, the audience learned how to live a simple life and coexist with the nature.
Environmental issues have great impact on people’s life. Government’s policy and people’s lifestyle are the key to protecting our environment. Therefore, it should be highly valued by everyone. Environmental education at an early age helps to develop environmental awareness, which can determine a sustainable and responsible lifestyle in the future. From this point of view, thecontinuity and sustainability of this education is extremely significant.
