In response to "Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050," biomass is one of the key projects under "Strategies Eight: Resource Recycling & Zero Waste." This project aims to promote biomass circulation in Taiwan, foster inter-agency collaboration, and develop circular industry models. It involves understanding international dynamics, analyzing and adjusting our national strategic measures. Additionally, it entails biomass flow, development of cascade utilization, and further selecting materials with development potential. This project also involves analyzing international market trend, third party certification systems, and reviewing regulations on the recycling of food processing sludge to facilitate diverse and effective waste management.
To ensure a rational and industry-relevant biomass circulation model, this project has identified potential recycling technologies and organizations. Through site visits and guidance, the results have been fed back into the circular model as successful cases for external promotion. This project also includes carbon footprint analysis and recommendations, and establishing related guidelines for the biomass industry. Moreover, it evaluates the necessity of establishing quality standards or regulations for anaerobic digestate, promoting diverse waste management methods.
By establishing a biomass system platform, integrating biomass flow, and designing a resource map, the aim is to obtain fundamental information and provide opportunities for industrial material sourcing. Furthermore, this project involves organizing various meetings, tracking related measures to agricultural materials and waste. These efforts enable related sectors to understand global biomass trends, assess Taiwan's biomass promotion initiatives, and promote inter-agency collaboration to drive Taiwan's biomass circulation.
