To investigate the variations of the air quality and to support the daily air quality forecast, this project propose the following tasks: (1) support the daily air quality forecasting; (2) upgrade the air quality modeling to enhance the forecasting capability; (3) assessment of air pollution episode to enhance the simulation capability of PBL conditions and O3 simulation, and to assess its impact on the occurrence of the air pollution event; (4) enhance the accuracy of the bias-correction method for air quality prediction.
The major tasks conducted include: (1) support the daily air quality forecasting; (2) utilize the TROPOMI satellite products to enhance the estimation of East Asia emission inventory; (3) improve the temporal allocation of highway emissions; (4) utilize CMAQ-PAMS system to assess the major VOCs emission sources and examine its impact on O3 concentration; (5) assessment of air pollution dispersion process in the PBL for a high pollution episode; (6) enhance the weather type classification and assess its impact on the bias correction method.
