Strategy of domestic drinking water management for climate change and natural disasters, researching of drinking water laws and regulations, Promoting “Water Refilling Map” activity to make connection of Green Living, enhancing the utilization the drinking water dispenser, and optimizing and maintaining the “Global Drinking Water Information Website” from Ministry of Environment are goals of the project.
The project implementation results include: (1) Reviewing of management regulations. (1.1) Review of the source of ferric chloride raw materials in drinking water treatment chemicals. Base on drinking water safety and health concerns, it is necessary to consider the complexity of the source of the agent and the uncertainty of the ingredients, and maintain "not to be used as a drinking water quality treatment agent" (1.2) Principles for legalization review of campground, For example, "Guidelines for Application and Review of Environmental Protection Matters at Campgrounds" and "Prohibition of Acts That Cause Water Pollution". (1.3) In response to international regulations on per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) management restriction, and new U.S draft standards for PFAS, Through the expert and scholar consultation, discussing the current status of PFAS water quality testing, public health risks, Adaption of existing water treatment processes and relevant impact, and planning the preparations to response the international trends.(2) Responding for climate change: (2.1) Research foreign laws and regulations related to natural disaster drinking water quality, such as adopting variation (adjustment), exemptions, short-term exposure induced values and other solutions to compare and strengthen the domestic drinking water management. (2.2) Carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) is one of the strategy for reduction of carbon emission during the climate change. Researching of the status of industry activation of geological sequestration, the operation area does not overlap with the Water Quality and Quantity Protection Area. (3) Green Living: Increasing the site for “Water refill Map”, and promoting the activation through video and activities raise the concept of reduction plastic container and enjoy Green Living. Renewing and beautify the outer shielding graphical design of the drinking water dispensers at Orchid Island and Green Island, and set up direction signs and IOT counters for the drinking water dispensers. (4) Maintaining the “Global Drinking Water Information Website” with the latest news, activity result pictures, as well as to conduct periodical information safety management operation, to optimize the website service quality.
