This year, the Nantou County Environmental Protection Bureau implemented multiple initiatives for managing toxic and chemical substances and disaster prevention. These included completing 10 months of anomaly cross-checking for the toxic substance declaration system, achieving a 100% declaration rate. A total of 171 on-site inspections were conducted for 78 regulated factories, reaching a 100% inspection rate. The bureau collaborated with the Central Technical Team to perform tiered guidance visits for 9 factories and completed 4 unannounced tests, along with anomaly response work for toxic substance transport GPS tracking, maintaining a 100% follow-up rate.
Additionally, 173 guidance visits were carried out for businesses with food safety concerns. The bureau organized six legal advocacy and education sessions, including practical exercises, and published seven related news articles to promote policies through diverse media platforms. On April 18, the bureau conducted the "Min’an No. 10 Toxic Disaster Rescue and Air Pollution Incident Response Exercise," simulating wartime toxic chemical disaster rescue operations. This exercise integrated resources from fire departments, police, environmental agencies, and other units to enhance response efficiency.
By combining comprehensive inspections, guidance, and educational advocacy, the Nantou County Environmental Protection Bureau strengthened toxic substance management, inter-agency collaboration, and disaster response capabilities, showcasing high efficiency and innovative practices.
