113年新興污染物潛在污染源調查及改善策略規劃計畫

Investigation of Potential Pollutants of Emerging Contaminants and Improvement Strategy Planning Project
英文摘要 | This project primarily involves investigating and analyzing Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substance (PFAS) in four designated water treatment plants to understand the distribution of PFCs in drinking water quality and potential pollution sources. It also includes compiling information on international water treatment technologies, costs, timelines, and global regulatory trends for PFAS in drinking water. These findings aim to serve as a reference for managing drinking water quality and PFAS pollution incidents in Taiwan. The investigation results indicate that the four water treatment plants have adjusted their water sources to reduce the use of water with higher PFAS concentrations. Following water quality re-examinations, all have met Drinking Water Quality Standards. The investigation results indicated that the pollution source is firefighting foam used at airports near the water treatment plants. The project also compiled international remediation measures for PFAS pollution incidents, categorizing them into short-term and long-term actions based on detected concentration levels. Short-term measures prioritize suspending the use of high-concentration raw water and switching to alternative water sources. Long-term measures include ongoing control measures, water sample monitoring to identify pollution sources, and evaluating the installation of additional water treatment processes to ensure stable water supply. The project further recommends establishing a public PFAS risk communication and information platform for public inquiries. | ||
