The object of this project is mainly to develop measurement technology for electromagnetic field measurement of different types of electromagnetic wave radiation sources in the environment, and to conduct on-site measurements to verify the feasibility of the proposed measurement method.
In this project, we have carried out the environmental electromagnetic field measurements on 30 different electromagnetic wave radiation sources such as the extremely low-frequency power facilities of floor type transformers and the radio frequency radiation facilities of mobile communication base stations and Wi-Fi stations in the environment to understand the electromagnetic wave intensities around different non-ionizing radiation sources and ensure the safety of people's living environment. For the beam forming antenna technology used in the new fifth generation (5G) mobile communication systems, the measurement method had also been researched and developed in this project for the measurement of the electromagnetic waves radiated by 5G base stations. The radiated electromagnetic field of several 5G mobile base stations were measured in this project according to the developed measurement method to ensure the feasibility of the measurement method.
In addition to the above short-term electromagnetic wave measurements, in order to allow the public to understand the long-term continuous changes of the environmental electromagnetic waves, the implementation methods of the test system for long-term monitoring of electromagnetic waves in the environment has also been proposed in this project. Based on the proposed method, we have set up three long-term electromagnetic wave monitoring systems at three different locations to conduct long-term observations of the environmental electromagnetic wave in specific areas. The measured data is automatically transmitted back to the data center regularly by these test systems for subsequent data presentation.
The formulation of the above two measurement methods could provide references for the implementation of operations such as the electromagnetic field intensity measurement of 5G beamforming mobile communication base stations and long-term measurement of environmental radio frequency electromagnetic waves in the future.
