To promote the twelve key strategies for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and in response to climate change, this initiative aligns with the 2050 net-zero policy by transforming interdisciplinary professional topics into citizen science actions. This approach aims to guide participants in environmental actions and cultivate environmental citizenship and learning communities.
This project will organize Climate Scientist Workshop courses, including four two-day Seed Workshops and twenty one-day Climate Science Workshops, with a total participant count exceeding 1,200 people. Participants include public sector personnel, general community members, students, and teachers, with the goal of spreading and promoting knowledge on climate change and enhancing the public’s citizen science literacy in response to climate change.
The project will gather climate change-related educational materials and conduct outreach on climate change and net-zero green living, tailored to different target groups. Each target group will have customized curricula with distinct climate change themes. For students, the focus will be on foundational scientific knowledge, using case studies to raise their sensitivity to climate change and encourage behavior changes that integrate environmental consciousness into daily life. For general community members, the curriculum will center on climate adaptation and mitigation, using scientific case studies to help them understand the climate risks facing their own communities and the appropriate responses. For school teachers, the materials will be knowledge-oriented, outlining current climate change issues to enable participating teachers to develop their own curricula. For the public sector, the curriculum designed for community members will be supplemented with a focus on the scientific aspects of climate adaptation risks, listing current climate change issues along with relevant domestic and international policies
