This year, the Department of Environmental Protection has continued roadside inspections, self-management programs, and implementing control measures for Air Quality Maintenance Zones and Air Quality Clean Zones to improve air quality within the county. The program's results are summarized as follows:
This year's "Project of Inspection of Diesel Vehicle Emission and Diesel Oil for Taitung County" was carried out from January 9, 2024, to November 30, 2024, achieving an overall implementation rate of 100%.
The scope of work under the implementation contract included the following tasks:
1. Diesel vehicle emissions testing, inspection, and control operations.
2. Autonomous management of diesel vehicles and integrated maintenance and inspection operations.
3. Handling cases involving the prosecution of illegal or unauthorized vehicles.
4. Public awareness initiatives related to diesel vehicle control policies.
5. Management of quality assurance systems for diesel vehicle emissions testing laboratories.
6. Control operations for the South-Line Highway, Air Quality Maintenance Zones, and Air Quality Clean Zones.
7. Coordination and promotion of Air Quality Maintenance Zones designation, evaluation, and planning.
8. Operation and maintenance of the Diesel Vehicle Emission Inspection Station.
9. Collaboration with the Ministry of Environment or other agencies for the evaluation of the Diesel Vehicle Emission Inspection Station.
