The Enterprise Environmental Protection Award has been rewarded for 33 years to encourage corporate social responsibility through advancing environmental protection. A total of 776 enterprises have received the award since its inception in 1992. This year, after undergoing review stages, on-site surveys and a final selection, a total of 65 award-winning companies were selected, including 5 Gold Awards, 25 Silver Awards, 28 Bronze Awards, and 7 Finalists.
In line with Taiwan's 2050 goal of transformation to net-zero , most of the 127 companies registered this year have incorporated energy conservation and carbon reduction into their actions, and integrated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) as aspects of corporate management, with 96 enterprises publishing corporate social responsibility reports. Enterprises that participated in this year's award competition have excellent environmental protection records, with total conserved electricity of 1.867 billion kWh in 2023 (enough to provide one month of power to 5.525 million households), conserved water of 82.55 million cubic meters, rain water collection of over 1.387 million cubic meters (equivalent to one month of water supply to 2.437 million families), installation of solar power facilities to generate 76.3 million kWh of electricity (enough to provide one month of power to 225,740 households), and a total of 937,491 metric tons of carbon reduction (equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 2,418 Daan Forest Parks). These enterprises also responded to the government's environmental policies by taking part in: green procurement reaching a total of 9.85 billion TWD; adopting a total of 43 public restrooms and 78 kilometers of shoreline; and leading 239 beach cleanups with a total of 11,223 participants. 97 enterprises have signed up in response to the call for a green working environment.
In order for the data on these award-winning enterprises to be gathered, shared, passed on and promoted, the MOENV has published a summary of the 6th NEEPA Winners for Excellent Performance in Environmental Protection, which outlines the experiences of these organizations. In addition, the MOENV will hold demonstration seminars and site visits at some of the award-winners’ facilities, allowing the winners to share their experiences in carrying out environmental work.
