In this project, Polyphenylene Ether (MPPE) was modified by both physical and chemical processes to improve the toughness. The compatibility of the alloy was enhanced by mixing with different additives and adjusting processing parameters. Form various literatures, elastomers are found to be good coupling agent for this alloy system. In this project, SEBS-g-MA, SEBS, and PA are applied to modify the alloy system. The compatibility is the main consideration of PPE/PA alloy system, and the PPE/SEBS/SEBS-g-MA、PPE/SEBS/SEBS-g-MA/PA6 were found have excellent performance in compatibility. The impact property of alloy (112 J/m) is higher than recycled PPE. After adding PA/SEBS during the manufacture process, it reduce the viscosity and improve the processibility.
