In order to improve accuracy and prompt data processing and data transporting in drinking water management the EPA (Environmental Protection Administration) began to computerize the drinking water management works, and conducted the “Drinking Water Management Application Development” project and a “The Drinking Water Management Practice Survey and Found” project since 1999. These projects established the online application of the “Drinking Water Management System”.
The database system worked successfully and the achievements of these projects tremendously reduced the workload of the local environmental protection bureau staff and sped up the drinking water management issuing. The EPA proceeds to application maintenance works to keep the system running properly and to adjust or aggrandize the system if necessary. This is the 8th year (2008) of this maintenance project. The major task of this project is to maintain the running properly of every business function and trouble clearing of the Drinking Water Management System. This project included tasks associated with following:
1.Guarantee the applications running properly and available to the environmental departments of various local counties and city governments, ensuring them to search, check and inspect testing data through internet online registration, and improve the efficiency of administrative.
2.Statistic analysis drinking water management data to assist the environmental authorities and its follow-up inspection works. It comes to the policies relating to the formulation of drinking water management policy revision.
3.Provide convenient service and accuracy drinking water data for the public, and promote data sharing.
